**ANOTHER INTERESTING TIDBIT ABOUT FOREVER AMBER…**

Forever Amber was written in 1944 by Kathleen Winsor.

At the time, this book was a HUGE hit. In fact, the public never let Winsor move past it despite publishing another seven novels.

Then, as life does, Winsor’s life took a dramatic turn.

Kathleen’s husband at the time was a writer. She had become fascinated with him first through his writing and they went on to marry. However, she was lured away from him and into the arms of the charming, but volatile musician and band leader Arties Shaw who had already been married 5 times at that point.

Winsor and Shaw wed in 1946. That was two years after Winsor published Forever Amber and mere months after Shaw’s divorce from Ava Gardner.

The strangest thing about the Winsor and Shaw union was that (according to many online articles) Shaw had admonished Ava Gardner for reading Winsor’s novel, Forever Amber.

At the time, Shaw considered the novel trash. Then, he married the author of said trashy book!!
