Summary
The Vagabond (1916) follows Charlie Chaplin as a wandering violinist who rescues a young woman from an abusive life with a band of gypsies. He brings her into his makeshift group of musicians, where she eventually catches the attention of a talented artist. As romance, jealousy, and the promise of a better life enter the story, Chaplin’s Tramp is forced to confront the bittersweet reality that helping someone you love may mean letting them go.
