TRANSCRIPT OF ‘GIRL IN THE WHITE COTTON DRESS’
Summer is turning into autumn. Cold rainy days are more common. You don’t mind wearing coats and boots, but the warmth of summer will be missed. And so will the lovely lady you met.
A chance meeting at a coffee house turned into a full blown summer fling. No. It was a real relationship. For as long as it lasted.
She was an actress performing in a local theater she told you as you sipped your coffee.
“A mystery drama with a few laughs in it” is how she described it.
“Sounds interesting. I’d like to see it,” you say.
“I can get you a pass to get in,” she offered.
“I’d like that,” you responded.
And just like that. Your romance had begun.
On the nights she performed, she stayed at your apartment. It was so much closer to the theater than where she was staying.
But it was the days you both had off that became the most magical. You would drive to the countryside and walk in the fields and through the woods.
She was a lovely young woman with a sense of freedom about her. On those special days together she’d wear a white cotton dress and not much else. The feeling of cool grass on the bottom of her bare feet was liberating she said.
And then, just like that, she was gone.
Your lovely summer fling was from another country and her visa had maxed out.
You brought her to the airport and parted with a hug and a kiss. She gave you one last wave before she disappeared around the corner like a mist.
Leaving you with memories of her in a field in that white cotton dress.
