Do Women Want To Be Used?

I have a friend who I often communicate with via email. We have some interesting convos that tend to center around male and female dynamics within (mostly) romantic relationships.

I should mention too…

One thing that has really sat with me since you said it is how you believe women want to be ‘used.’

You have a point. I read somewhere a number of years ago where Cameron Diaz said that women… “want to be objectified.” – Mmmm…she’s right; we do. The question is, why? I hate that we do, but we do. Objectification is a “moth to a flame” lure in women.

It’s true, from direct observation that this is the case… women want to be used and objectified. – I did not think you would agree with me, so, as usual, you’re turning my head in surprise.

Yet, I don’t think it’s natural… no matter how common it may be. – So you feel it is societally based, that it is not a natural element of femininity.

I really think the human race has been so twisted up in its psychology that many points of view and tendencies in behavior have been corrupted. To the extent that it has become commonplace.

Dyann –if you are right, there has to have been a “start time” before which human psychology was “not” corrupted.

Your thought implies that “something” happened, which shaped modern womanhood where we are victims of the “so twisted up…psychology” that demands, or, if you will, wishes to “be used.” I think that is what you are saying. (Correct me if I have misinterpreted).

So essentially, we as a species have had such levels of corruption thrown at us from the moment of birth (if not sooner – this is way too provocative to leave alone. Promise me we can return to this at a later time, OK?) that corrupted behavior and thinking is so common it becomes ‘normal’.

Yet it’s the farthest thing from natural.—So, here, you make the case that a woman’s want or desire to be “used” is unnatural, but, due to societal dictates, it has become “normal” in our time. Yes?

(On the internet/youtube/etc.) — There are pictures of people just wandering around at a pier. Men in their suits and hats. Women in their long corseted dresses and wide brimmed hats. The men are not leering at the women like you so often see today. Most of the women look quite attractive, happy and stand very straight… with dignity. – I so want to live back then. The thought of being treated like a lady…yum. Today, we’re treated shabbily. Talk about evolution.

I think about those women and how sensual they were despite showing almost nothing. As I’ve said before, our bodies have become our costumes. Men were just as turned on by the little bit women showed long ago as they are with our blatant nudity:
