I found this video on Twitter and thought it was incredibly important to share. Especially, in today’s political climate. Below is a video of Regent Law Professor James Duane.
He speaks definitively (and quickly) on the importance of not talking to police about anything. When cops are called to a scene or you’re arrested or even asked just to provide a few answers… just say no.
Part of the Miranda Rights goes like this, “… anything you say can and may be used against you…” ‘Nuff said.
Why should you not talk to the police? Because you don’t have to.
Second, the cops will find a way of twisting it so you look guilty.
Why would they do that? Because that’s how they’re trained. Period.
Suspicion is a sickness… and apparently a law enforcement training tool.
As you’ll see in the second half of the video, a police officer confirms everything Professor Duane says in the first part. The cops look for suspicious connections that would allow them to make an arrest or indictment. Why? Because they’re trained to.
Even if you’re being completely honest. Duane says law enforcement can and often will twist small things you say against you if they deem it necessary.
He gives viewers stark reasons why they should always exercise their 5th Amendment rights when questioned by government officials.
