Johnny Farrell (Ford), a charming American gambler, finds himself working for casino owner Ballin Mundson (Mcready) in postwar Buenos Aires. When Ballin introduces him to his new wife, the beautiful Gilda (Hayworth), Johnny is stunned to discover she is the woman from his past. Their old attraction—and resentment—quickly resurfaces, creating a dangerous triangle of jealousy, betrayal, and desire.
