Transcript of: MASSAGE – THE TOUCH OF LOVE
Massage, an elegant testimony of friendship and affection. A natural gift of quiet pleasure.
Massage is a thoroughly sensual experience for two people. Communicating love through touch.
The environment is important to the feelings that a massage can produce. So you should find a quiet area which is warm and friendly. Free of distractions.
Soft, indirect light is the most pleasant, and can heighten the feelings of warmth and intimacy.
Oil is essential in massage, as it reduces the friction between hands and body. Many oils found around the home can be used, such as baby oil, olive oil, glycerin, coconut oil, or cocoa butter.
The oil should be warmed. Just as the room is warmed.
Most people prefer a light scent. Perhaps lemon juice. Or essence of mint or cloves. Place the oil close to the massage area. So you won’t have to break contact with your partner once you begin.
Your hands should be clean. With your nails as short as possible. and remove any jewelry that might be distracting.
Before you begin your massage, let your partner grow accustomed to your touch. Apply a few drops of the warm oil to your fingertips.
Then begin.
Small circles. Gently.
As you feel the muscles relax, you can expand the circles of rotation, moving slowly toward the temples.
From the forehead to the rim of the eyes. Above.
If your partner is not wearing contact lenses, you can even massage the eyes themselves with a smooth, light movement of your thumbs.
The chin lightly between the thumb and forefinger, then up, a gentle, rolling motion. Light, but firm.
Your partner needs no help, so just relax and enjoy. With no bone structure on the outer ears, they have their own unique requirements for massage. From the bottom, slowly up to the top. Then back down. This is also a good opportunity to block out all sound for your partner for a moment or two.
The body is always followed by an adjacent part in massage.
Thus, from the head to the chest, as you draw your hand, lift your partner’s body slightly.
The chest lift is one of the most effective in massage. The feeling it produces is very, very pleasant, never breaking the contact of touch. Bend your partner’s legs at the knees so that the organs in the stomach will be less constricted.
The motion of the organs within the abdomen is clockwise. Therefore, your stroke should also be clockwise.
Massage with your entire body so that the movement of your extension of total body movement. Press both hands gently on the stomach. And move one hand across while you pull the other toward yourself.
Strong strokes depend on the friction of the hands pulling against the The stroke is most effective when the rhythm is never interrupted. Smooth and steady.
After the chest, the arms.
On these strokes, you should exert the most pressure on the upward movement toward the heart, and much less on the return. This is because massage mainly affects the circulation in the veins, which lie close to the surface of the skin.
By massaging toward the heart, you will aid the flow of blood and improve muscle tone. Understanding the biological effects of sensual massage is part of giving this touch of love.
Position the form against your torso in order to reach the area of the, held this way, the muscles are naturally relaxed. Use your thumbs to press lightly on your partner’s wrist, with the elbow, and back to the wrist with less pressure.
A paradox is that some of the most vigorous strokes in massage are the most relaxing, as in shaking or vibrating the muscles.
When being massaged is completely relaxed, there will be a lightness to him, almost a feeling of weightlessness. Needed for massaging the hand.
Since the hand is made up of groupings of small bones that move collectively and individually, massaging them is largely a matter of rotating them for your partner.
You massage between the tendons on the back of the hand, all the way from the base of the wrist to the web of skin between the fingers. At the end of each stroke, pinch gently as your fingers slide off. Individually massage each finger.
Pull gently, starting at the base and going toward the tip in a twisting motion.
Of all the body, the fingers are the most active and mobile parts, and also the most sensitive to touch.
Gently rotate the wrist until you feel a slight resistance. Hold the hand for a moment, warming it with your own hand.
Slowly glide your hands up the leg, from the ankles to the thigh.
You can apply considerable pressure on the leg. Accept over the kneecap. Use less pressure on the return stroke. Even a light touch with your fingertips.
Massage the lower leg. Mentally divide the calf into strips. Gliding your fingertips from the ankle, to just short of the knee. Just as with the arm. You are massaging toward the heart, aiding circulation by directly affecting the flow of blood in the veins and could be massaged gently.
Bend the knee to relax the muscle on the underside of the thigh. Pull it vigorously, down toward the pelvis, then back. This is a good time to massage the calves. The knee is bent, and the calf muscles are relaxed.
The thumbs move in a rolling motion. Move toward the other leg fluidly. Easily, never breaking your rhythm.
The same is used on other broad areas of the body.
Many thousands of nerve endings are concentrated in the foot. Don’t be afraid to press hard on the heel with your fist. The foot is used to considerable pressure. The traditional Chinese view is that the foot is the terminus for all parts of the body. And by massaging it, you are affecting everything else, too.
You can exert a deeper pressure with your thumbs, rotating and relaxing the bones.
The top of the foot massaged with a light stroke. Massage the tendons of the foot in almost the same way that you did the back of the hand. Pull easily on the toes with a slight corkscrew motion. Center on them.
In this touch of love session, you will be so focused on every motion that only you and the other person exist.
Outline the ankle bone as though you’re molding it new. Take a moment to warm the foot within the enclosure of your hand.
You have helped your partner turn over, and exactly as you did the front of the leg, you massage with long, firm, even strokes.
You may apply heavy pressure here to the back of the leg, except over the back of the knee. The secret is… to make all motions fluid, flowing naturally from one to the next.
Begin vigorously crossing back and forth as you slowly move up and down the leg. You are pulling the skin against itself, which causes a surprising degree of warmth.
And we are connecting the legs with the buttocks. Strokes that anticipate the next area to be massaged create a feeling of wholeness. After raking the back of the legs, you can begin a pulling motion.
Though you may choose any order of massage techniques or body parts to work, it’s ultimately an art of improvisation.
Try many things.
You’ll find some strokes are better than others. For instance, you can rake downward with the fingertips, as a simple variation of raking upward with the knuckles.
And by bending the leg several times, gently nudging it, being careful not to cause any strain.
Each area of the body suggests its own strokes because of its particular physiology. The buttocks, being made of soft tissue with bones deep within them, are right for firm, kneading strokes.
Just as you began massaging the buttocks while you were still working on the legs, so you connect with the back while working on the buttocks.
Suggest an opposite or complementary motion. You can go from a pushing movement to a pulling motion.
There are many ways of vibrating the body, though surely the best known is done with quick chopping motions with the sides of the hands. It has a wonderful invigorating effect.
Because the pelvic bone lies deep within the layers of tissue of the buttocks, it takes considerable pressure with your fist to effectively massage this area.
One of the best sensations in massage is the rapid vibration of the buttocks. Many people say it’s their favorite stroke in massage.
Most of us, massage means massaging the back. That have been used on other parts of the body can be used here. The wide band of muscles that wrap the sides of the back should be massaged in parallel strips with the tips of the fingers. It’s an extension of the same stroke that you used on the buttocks.
Muscles that parallel the spine require long strokes all the way to the thigh and back up.
Hand over hand, the shoulder muscles on the upper back are prone to the greatest physical and psychological tension of any place on the body. Knead them deeply, thoroughly, with your thumbs.
This is the only way to make the shoulder blade protrude. Outline it. Knead it.
As you did on the legs and sides, the skin against itself. This is a friction movement, and has the effect of warming the skin.
Try other parts of your body besides your hands for massage. Massage the spine with your elbows. On one side and the other. With the soft underside of your forearms, you can apply a broad, generalized pressure to the back.
Slowly trace the spine with two fingers, feeling each of the vertebrae.
Massage deals with the body in segments, strokes that flow the length and breadth of your partner.
Because massage is such a focused, and intense experience, it is necessary to ease out of it, gently, to return to the real world.
Such whole connecting strokes have that effect. This is pure sensation. The feeling of the nerves closest to the surface of the skin. The feeling of the shape of the body. Of its potential for self awareness and tingling pleasure.
Massage is a gift. A gift of communication between two people.
A communication of love through touch.
